We were very fortunate to have met the Karl Schiemann family while in Sommersdorf.  Pictured above,standing left to right are: Karl Heintz Schiemann, Mrs Karl Schiemann, Trudy Heuer, daughter-in-law, Julianne and son Norbert.  Children of Norbert are Tobias and Laura

Sommersdorf is a small village of 17 families.  Karl was retired, he used to work in the collective farms that surrounded the area.  Both Norbert and Julianne are teachers in the near-by Grabowhofe school.
