This is not
the normal family publication that is completed. Most of those are
soft bound 100-300 pages. The Heuer Family Book titled "Pioneer of
Ahnapee
contains 1054 pages, and includes 703 images consisting of maps, documents,
and photographs of many of the 6,000 members of the descendants and their
families. It is 8.5" wide, 11" long and
3.5" thick, and is professionally bound.
The title of
the book is beautifully embossed in gold leaf on the hard, dark-blue cover.

Publishing this book
became an obsession for the family members involved. It
was a difficult, arduous process, tested relationships as there were
definite opinions as to how the publication should look and what the
content should or should not be. By
following the links we have provided below, you get a sense of the
undertaking of this publishing project. This entire
project, including research trips to Poland (formerly Prussia),
collection of data, writing, editing, rewriting, editing and rewriting
and ultimately publishing this book involved the passion and dedication of
our family members nearly ten years and a great deal of patience by all!

It was
self-published by the authors on a Personal Computer using the
publishing program, PageMaker. The resulting publication was then
transferred to CDs and sent to Algoma Printing, Inc. in Algoma, Wisconsin
for printing. After printing, it was shipped to Madison, Wisconsin to be
sized, bound, and covered.
